From December 5 certain businesses and organisations, including places of worship, will be required by the State Government to maintain contact registers for COVID-19 contact tracing, if required.

If COVID-19 is detected in the WA community, contact registers help to protect us all by enabling the WA Health Contact team to quickly identify and help anyone that may have been exposed to COVID-19.

The State Government recently launched the SafeWA app as an easy-to-use, free, contactless option.

SafeWA records would only be used for COVID-19 contact tracing, should it be required, and will only be kept for 28 days and not used for any other purpose.

Simply download the app and follow the prompts to create an account as an individual, then use the app to scan the venue QR code.

We encourage everyone at Life Chapel to download and use the app to register their attendance from this Sunday. This includes volunteers. The use of the SafeWA app is not mandatory in WA but it is encouraged.

New people or visitors to Life Chapel will be encouraged to either use the app to scan the Life Chapel QR code at the entrance, or fill in the contact register at the entrance with their name and phone number.

People who refuse to register their attendance will be denied entry as per Government legislation. Details will be kept for 28 days and stored confidentially and securely.

The mandatory contact register applies only to people aged 16 years and over. For more about SafeWA, visit www.wa.gov.au/organisation/covid-communications/covid/-19coronavirus-safewa SafeWA can be downloaded to your smartphone via the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
